HOW DO YOU CHARGE?

For Full Service Design we charge a flat fee + a 25% project management fee for custom and trade-only/wholesale merchandise. Regardless of this fee, purchasing trade-only or wholesale merchandise through us enables our clients to have access to pricing that is below the retail value. This additional fee covers our design firm’s time and expense of managing all the ordering, logistics, trouble-shooting, delivery and installation of the merchandise. 

 

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF WORKING WITH VIVID INTERIORS?

Its a little bit like online dating but in a good way. We start with our clients filling out our new client questionnaire. Right off the bat we are able to gather enough project information to decided if we are a good fit for each other. If we are a good fit, we will be the brave ones and schedule our 1st date aka the project assessment. The project assessment allows us to see your space and discuss all of your project parameters like cost, timeline, and budget. Following our “date” we will provide you with a flat fee design quote aka the Project Proposal. We hope you approve because at this point we dont just like you, we like like you, but we want a little commitment first. Following your approval of the project proposal, we will provide you with a Letter of agreement and an invoice for our first payment. Once payment has been made the process will go something like this: we will create a design concept which will be presented to you to approve so that you know the direction we are going in before we really start taking that next step. After approval of the design concept we start developing the design, create floor plans, specifying furnishings and pulling together a formal design presentation. Once the presentation has been presented and approved we move on to the fun part, shopping and installing. Following the purchasing of all approved items and décor, this is where it turns a little 50 shades and we start to bring others into the relationship. By others I mean our contractors and trades to help us bring the vision to reality. Once the install is complete we will style the space to completion.   

 

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE CONTACTING VIVID INTERIORS?

We understand that a lot of clients are unsure of how much an interior or and Interior Designer can cost, but we do recommend that you have an idea of the total investment that you’re willing to spend before contacting us. Typically we recommend you have a budget of no less than $15,000 for a standard room with no furnishings.

We also encourage you to provide us with about 10-15 inspiration images that you are drawn to, so that we may have a better idea of the look and feel that you wish to achieve. 

 

IS VIVID INTERIORS A GOOD FIT FOR MY PROJECT?

We have our prospective clients complete a new client questionnaire so that we can attempt to answer this very question before entering into a working relationship. We always start our projects with a project assessment. This assessment allows us to evaluate your project further and to determine information like cost, timeline, and budget. Vivid Interiors is a small firm that takes on jobs and job inquiries selectively, so that our full-time staff members can dedicate their attention to each project.

 

WHAT IF THE DESIGNER IMPOSES THEIR IDEAS INSTEAD OF DESIGNING FOR MY PERSONAL TASTE?

We strongly believe that the key to a successful design is building a trusting relationship with our clients. Our process strikes a balance between respecting your taste and allowing our designers the freedom to explore. Hopefully you hire us because you like our previous designs – browse our project portfolio to get a sense of our general aesthetic.

 

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE DESIGN YOU PRESENT?

Before we start the actual design we go through a concept development phase. This concept will give you a visual insight into the look, feel, and color palette of the design to be. Therefore you have control of the design direction before the full design is rendered. Also your Full Service Design package comes with 1 complementary round of revisions to make any changes to the design that is unsatisfactory. 

 

CAN I USE MY OWN CONTRACTOR/TRADES-PEOPLE OR WILL VIVID INTERIORS ACT AS GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR MY PROJECT?

We are always happy to work with your trades if you are confident in their skills and abilities. If you do not have a pre-existing relationship with a contractor or trades-people we would be happy to assist you in your selection, however, vivid interiors is solely an interior design firm and we do not provide contracting services.
